Kenny Young - 1966 - 2005

A Classic UFO Watchdog Article (c) by Royce Myers, III

UFO Investigator and Researcher

Young graced UFOlogy with his rational approach to cases and wasn't afraid to call a case bunk. Among Young's many achievements: Maintaining the UFO Research: Cincinnati! website, obtaining secret UFO video recordings from the Department of Energy, and most notably investigating and publicizing the Trumbull County UFO incident where a UFO was sighted and pursued by numerous police officers. Young's committment to finding answers to the UFO mystery and his investigations serve as an example to all just exactly what it means to be an objective investigator. UFOlogy suffered a great loss when Young passed away in February 2005 after a long battle with leukemia.

UFO researcher Kenny Young. News of Kenny's unexpected passing sent a shockwave through the UFO community. Kenny passed away after a long and courageous battle with leukemia at the age of only 38.

Kenny was featured in print and on many, many radio programs. His investigative work appeared on television series such as Sightings and the Sci-Fi Channel. His investigation into the Trumbull County Disturbance was featured on the NBC special Confirmation and was by far the best and most credible part of that program. Kenny also investigated the rumored episode of comedian Jackie Gleason being shown alien bodies at a military base as well as the incredible 1949 Norwood Spotlight case. Kenny also was webmaster of the excellent UFO Research website (Now gone. Ed.) that featured his outstanding work.

Kenny's investigations served as an example of what the word investigation meant. Kenny's dedication, professionalism, and diligence in being an objective reporter and investigator were an absolute credit to the field of UFO investigation. Kenny was never afraid to call a report unfounded or a hoax and was never afraid to speak out when a case merited further investigation or serious attention.

I once asked Kenny to write his thoughts on the current state of UFOlogy for a piece that was never published for one reason or another. When asked for his opinion, Kenny told me he had been inspired by a bitter musician when he offered what he called "a twisted bit of UFOlogical commentary"...

"The UFO research and investigation business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps of corrupt ideology run free, agenda dictates, delusion is rampant and ignorance prevails. The infestation of wrongful motivation and the beggarly depths of belief reign supreme amidst a universal disregard for truth and factual actuality... where good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side..."

But trying to find a person with anything negative to say about Kenny is a hard thing to do. All through his battle with leukemia, Kenny apparently never complained about it and was always moving ahead on a positive note making the most of his time. Most people in the UFO community had no idea about Kenny's condition.

To our friend Kenny - you will be dearly missed...
