IARIA AND MAUSSAN PROMOTE NEW ALIEN PHOTO CASE

Dubious Duo Bring Yet Another Apparent Alien Tale To Life

22-DEC-02

UPDATE, 23-DEC-02: While Iaria claims that he has found no digital manipulation in his so-called alien photos, and claims the photos could not be digital manipulations due to smooth pixelation, the webmaster of Rense.com decided to show us all the art of digital manipulation and what can be achieved. Click here to see what a real professional can accomplish. And don't bother going to Dan Iaria's website to view the page, he has taken it down...mmmm, where has this happened at before...

"If the creature had been added to the photo as a digital manipulation, the edges surrounding it would not be smooth and gradual."

--Dan Iaria commenting on his 'analysis' of bogus alien photos

An alien encounter. Photographs of the alien. Claims of analysis. Claims of genuine photographic evidence. Sound all too familiar? Sound too good to be true? Considering the source, it probably is.

Jaime Maussan and Dan Iaria, adamant supporters of the Reed UFO Fraud, bring to you yet another tale of an alien encounter. Talked about tonight on Maussan's radio program in Mexico were some photos alleged to have been taken on 29-SEPTEMBER-02 reportedly showing an alien entity in the background. The photos are alleged to have been taken by Ivan Geraldo in Alamo in Villa de Santiago, N.L., Mexico. The three photos supposedly show an alien in the background facing the camera, turning and then running off. But not everyone in Mexico is buying this alien tale.

The photos have now become the source of some heated debate in Mexico. Reports that an analysis on the photos have been completed by two independent groups in Mexico and the results are pointing to fraud. One company, Custom Color, was reported to have conducted a computer analysis on the photos and concluded the entity seen in the background was later added to the image. It was also reported that an attempt to analyze the memory card from the digital camera used to take the pictures was made. However, the images on the card had conveniently been erased.

Another well known UFO group in Mexico, The Vigilantes, led by Carlos Clemente, has also denounced the images as a hoax. This after Maussan last week stated the images "will impact the world," in spite of being told that the images were fraudulent.

Maussan, after being told the images were fake and rejecting the conclusion, was reported to have asked Iaria to conduct his own analysis on the photos (NOTE: Iaria has deleted this website). Maussan was reported to have advertised Iaria as "a computer expert from Microsoft," which is completely untrue as Iaria was nothing more than a contractor for that company.

Maussan's decision to support the case as real, as well as Iaria's so-called analysis, were not at all well received by UFOlogists and others involved in the analysis of the photos. Many were left wondering why Maussan would support three photos with no evidence to back them up. It has been reported that the analysis done by Iaria were of jpeg images alone, with no analysis of the camera or the memory card for the camera.

Iaria states that the alleged alien's movements are "indicative of a living creature." This is not the first time Iaria has conducted an analysis and concluded the image showed a living creature. This is also not the first time that Iaria and Maussan have proven their incompetence in conducting a UFO investigation. This case falls far, far short of anything that anyone with common sense would consider valid evidence and is heavy on speculation and opinion - which is what the Reed UFO Fraud was based on. When asked to provide absolute proof of many claims made about this case, Iaria and Maussan failed to. It's obvious they don't get it. If a UFO version of the film Dumb & Dumber were to be made, we wouldn't have to look far to fill the lead roles...
